Message from Steve about your day:

From Your Hotel in York (or Harrogate) I will collect you and we will travel North up the longest road in England, The A1M, The Great North Road. First stop will be in Richmond, with the largest cobbled market square in the country. We then drive through the rugged contours of Swaledale, with the River Swale being the fastest river in England, before heading up and over Buttertubs Pass, the infamous Tour De France Grand De part route., and now firmly on the international cyclist’s challenge list. Here will be photo stops for some spectacular views over Swaledale and into Wensleydale. For those of you interested in Top Gear, I will show you where Jeremy Clarkson lost his job! And on that bombshell, we head for lunch! Hawes and its Creamery, for some cheese tasting, also famous for the Wallace and Grommit stories. Wensleydale is James Herriot country, so we will take the minor road down the Dale to look at the locations for the TV series “All Creatures Great and Small”  The scenery changes from drystone walls to hedges now as we head into the ancient city of Ripon, home of the oldest ceremony in the world. A short journey from there back into York to your hotel.
