Let me supply that vital, human, link in your search for relatives who left Yorkshire behind to make a fresh start in the “new world” i.e. USA, Canada or Australia. I have the experience and local knowledge to make your time here as productive as possible.
Lots of Families left Swaledale and Wensleydale around 1830 when the lead mines shut down due to cheap imports. They travelled far and wide, in the USA mainly Wisconsin, Idaho, Iowa but also Wyoming and South Dakota. In Canada they settled in Quebec and Ontario. They travelled to Melbourne and Tasmania in Australia and Whangarei in NZ!

Thank you for making our visit to Yorkshire special. We really appreciated that you were flexible and accommodated our special interest in genealogy. You went above and beyond. We especially appreciated all your knowledge and your willingness to share it
